WELCOMING OUR DANCERS BACK SAFELY We understand that we all have our individual concerns with regards to Covid-19 as we are trying and striving to get back to some sense of a normal way of life. We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of ourselves, our students, and our studio families. With these precautions there are going to come some changes to our policies and procedures to ensure we maintain a fun, loving, but most importantly, a safe environment for all. We appreciate your patience and support during this process. We believe that it is essential that the children begin to return to activities. We also believe it is essential we do everything we can to ensure that return is safe and sustainable. This will not be our “new norm” this will be our “for now”. The Will’s 1.All students will be required to wear masks upon entering and exiting the studio. Students registered in a three and four year old class will be able to remove their masks once they are in their dance squares for class. Please have their masks on a lanyard around their neck. All other students will be required to have their masks on during class. We will be taking “breathe breaks” as needed if we feel like they are struggling. This will be done in a safe and structured manner. 2.All students will carry their dance bags into class with their shoes in their bags. If your dancer needs assistance with putting on their shoes please do this before class. Have them in their tap shoes upon arrival. Older students may put their dance shoes on in the studio. 3.We will check temperatures prior to entering the studio with a non-contact infrared thermometer. Only participating students will be allowed in the building. Anyone with a temperature over 100.5 degrees Fahrenheit will not be able to stay for class that day. 4.The front door will be propped open upon arrival so there will be no need to open it. 5.All students will use the touchless hand sanitizing dispenser located in the lobby before entering the studio. 6.Students will go straight to their assigned socially distanced dancer box that will be numbered. 7.We will get a candy treat after class for a job well done. We will no longer be able to dig in the candy bucket to pick out a treat. All treats will be dropped in their dance bag by their teacher at the end of class. Trick or treat style. All treats will be the same but will change from week to week. (This is all very important to the dancers😊 Trust us. 8.We will be operating with the garage door opened when the weather allows. We also plan to conduct some aspects of class outdoors when it’s appropriate to do so. The Wont’s 1.Wear your practice and dancewear to and from class. You won’t have access to the bathroom to change into your dance clothes on-premises. 2.You won’t be able to bring personal items into the studio, except for your dance bag, dance shoes, and a water bottle. Many of our younger students love to bring trinkets and treasures to class. While we love this, and can’t wait to get back there, for now our stuffed friends will have to stay home. 3.The back bathroom in the studio won’t be opened. We are only going to use the front bathroom. Please try not send your dancer to the studio with a full bladder. We want to limit bathroom usage as much as possible. Bathrooms will be sanitized regularly after use. Dancer’s will be expected to wash hands after they use the bathroom. We now have touchless soap dispensers throughout the building. There is a kid friendly instructional chart in the bathroom to explain appropriate hand washing procedures. Younger students will receive assistance in this process. They will also use the touchless hand sanitizer station located in their dance room when returning to the dance room and before returning to their dance box. 4.Students won’t have access to the kitchen. You will need to bring a water bottle from home. Bring one that they are familiar with so that they know it is theirs. Try to avoid sending in a standard plastic water bottle. If you do, please put their name on it with a marker. 5.We won’t be using the cubbies. All dance squares have a large square sticker that says “My Bag Here”. Dance bags will be kept with them in their dance square from the beginning to end of class. 6.Parents won’t be allowed in the lobby. We do encourage you all to throw a chair or blanket in your trunk and socially distance outside together during class. Many of our dance parents look forward to adult time together while their children are in class. We would love to see this socialization continue safely outside in the parking lot. 7.As terrible and as difficult as it will be for ALL of us, we won’t be able to allow hugging, handshaking or close socializing before, during and after class. We will be creating, implementing, and discussing alternate ways with our students to express our love and affection for them that supports social distancing.
Drop off procedure Students that are arriving for a 3 and 4 year old class will be walked to the door by their parent. We will do a temperature check at the door and then your dancer will be taken into their dance room and introduced to their special dancer square. We recognize that some students that are new to the studio may not be able to do this easily. We will make exceptions for these students in the beginning and allow a parent to walk in with them and get them settled into their new digs. We ask that the parent wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the studio. Once your child is settled in and comfortable, you will need exit the studio. For students age 5 and older- You will pull into the studio entrance and go all the way to the end of the parking lot (down by Econo Glass). Stay to the right side and make a U-turn once you get to the end. Pull up to the studio door and that is how the carpool line will form. Your child’s teacher will be right there to greet them. If you have a new student and have concerns with their comfort level of being dropped off in this way please contact us. Picking up When you are picking up your student you need to park in the front parking lot. Parents with students ages 3-6 will need to be at the front door area of the studio to pick up your child. Students ages 7 and older may walk to their car. Older students will be instructed to walk in front of the cars to reach their destination. Please be slow and pay attention in the parking lot at all times!!!! COVID response plans and procedure: Please use common sense and do not send your child to class if they are sick. All dance families must notify the studio if their child has a confirmed case of COVID-19. We also expect all dance families to self-quarantine for 14 days if they have been in contact with someone who has tested positive. If a dancer tests positive the dancer can only return to dance class after at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever reducing medications and the student has been released by their doctor to return. We will follow the CDC guidelines on disinfecting the studio. We will also notify all dance families of their possible exposure while remaining confidentiality as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Patience Please Please understand that this is going to be new for ALL of us. We have never had a situation like this arise in our 24 years of business. We are all going to be practicing a new way of operating our business and we want it to be safe and successful. We promise there are going to be missteps along the way. Let’s all work together and do this in a way that allows our kids to get back to sense of normalcy and back to being kids. We want this so badly for our students and we also want to be sure we are doing it safely…that is our top priority. We feel confident we can have a completely touchless environment outside of restroom usage. We are looking forward to seeing some smiling eyes and getting back to a sense of community. We are excited to be offering the opportunity for our students to hear, feel, move, create, learn, jump, stretch, connect and have a brief escape each week from the isolation storm they have been riding out over the past few months. We are so excited to get back together!! Loves and misses, Miss Lindy and Miss Jae
